PE and Sport Funding
At St. Anne's Catholic Primary we recognise the importance of physical education and a healthy lifestyle. We actively encourage our children to take part in a variety of additional activities to improve their overall fitness and ensure their PE lessons in school are of a high quality.
In the academic year 2015-2016, St. Anne's received £8820 sports funding. We are expecting to receive £8820 for this year also. For a detailed look at our spending, and how the funding has already had impact, please click here.
We have invested heavily in an all-weather running track. Our children are encouraged to take part in a 'Daily Dash' so that they can improve on fitness levels, and so in turn, well-being. Our sports apprentice is co-ordinating this and is closely monitoring the progress the children are making. We are already seeing them being able to run further distances within their ten or fifteen minute slots - we remind them that they are only ever in competition with themselves. Healthy bodies can support healthy minds.
We were delighted to recently welcome some of the Coventry City players in to St. Anne's. As mannequin challenges were the popular online activity at that time, we couldn't resist getting them to do the challenge with some of our children. Weren't they brilliant?
