Attendance
ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL
Holidays taken during term time will not be authorised by the Headteacher.
A School Attendance Officer is attached to the school and will contact parents at home in cases of irregular attendance or unexplained absence.
Learning Mentors operate a first day call procedure which means they will contact parents at home if a child is absent to establish the reason for this.
If your child is unwell you must contact the school by telephone to notify us of the reason for their absence.
Attendance Data
To promote good attendance all families with children who have attendance of 100% during a term will receive a congratulatory attendance certificate. Attendance rates are published in the weekly newsletter and the class with the highest percentage is rewarded with special activities in class on a weekly basis.
The figures below are published to conform with the Education (Pupils’ Attendance Records) Regulations 1991 and are intended to show the level of unauthorised absence recorded for pupils.
NOTE
The number of individual pupils recorded as ‘unauthorised absent’ (on one or more occasions) is shown as a percentage of the total number of pupils.
