St Anne's Catholic Primary School

"Love one another as I have loved you in our home, school and Parish family"

Our Journey in Faith

Our journey in faith starts at home. As parents, you are the first educators of your children, and by choosing to baptise your child you have made your intention clear that you wish to raise your child within the Catholic faith.  We aim to work in close partnership with you, strengthening links between home, school and parish, so that together we can enable the children to grow and flourish, whilst nurturing and encouraging their individual talents along the way.

Being a Catholic school, Christ is present in every aspect of our daily lives.  We expect the children to truly live out our mission statement, "Love one another, as I have loved you, in our home, school and parish families."  The gospel values underpin all of our policy and decision making, and we expect it to be evident in the children's behaviour.  What this looks like to visitors who enter our school is that we have an ethos where respect,  humility, dignity, love and forgiveness are visible.

Through our RE curriculum and sacramental preparation, we guide children on their journey of faith.  Each year group follows the diocesan programme, 'Learning and growing as God's people'.  Children celebrate mass at church and in school, take part in daily prayer, weekly class celebration of the word and weekly Mission assemblies where the gospel of the previous Sunday is shared, explained and understood at a child's level.

In year 3, the children prepare to receive the sacraments of reconciliation and first holy communion and in year 6 they prepare for the sacrament of confirmation. This programme is led by Father Stephen through St Anne's Church.
