PE & Sports Premium
At St. Anne's Catholic Primary School we recognise the importance of physical education and a healthy lifestyle. We actively encourage our children to take part in a variety of additional activities to improve their overall fitness and ensure their PE lessons in school are of a high quality.
We have invested heavily in an all-weather running track. Our children are encouraged to take part in a 'Daily Dash' so that they can improve on fitness levels and, so in addition, well-being. Our recently appointed Sports Specialist teaching assistant is co-ordinating this and is closely monitoring the progress the children are making. We are already seeing them being able to run further distances within their ten or fifteen minute slots We remind them that they are only ever in competition with themselves. We are passionate about teaching them that healthy bodies can support healthy minds.
We have also invested in Gym equipment and a new, safe trim trail that children can use to ensure active break and lunch times.
