School dinners
We have a wonderful school cook on site who prepares nutritious, home-cooked food for the children. The menu changes regularly, and the children get to choose the meal they would like at the start of each day. We have plenty of choice:
- A hot cooked meal
- A hot cooked vegetarian meal
- Pasta bar
- A jacket potato with a cheese of either cheese, beans or tuna (or a combination)
During the summer months, the cook and her team can prepare a healthy packed lunch as an alternative to a hot meal if the children would prefer. They would need to choose either a picnic or a hot meal for a half term. If they choose this, they can dine in a picnic style and take advantage of our beautiful grounds. All children in YR, Y1 and Y2 are entitled to a school meal free of charge. (Universal free school meals)
Children in all other classes are charged £2.50 per day which should be paid via the school money app on a Monday morning for the week. For this price, they will be provided with a hot dinner of their choice, plus a drink, a dessert and a 'help yourself' salad cart. There is always lots of food available should children fancy a little extra.
During registration, the children who have school dinners will be asked what they would like for that day.
If you think you may be entitled to support to pay for your school meals, click HERE and you can make your application. Our family Support workers will help you with this if you have any questions, or if you are unsure as to whether or not you qualify.
