St Anne's Catholic Primary School

"Love one another as I have loved you in our home, school and Parish family"

Admissions

St Anne's provides a Catholic Education for children between the ages of 3 and 11 years.

You can apply for a place in the Reception class if your child turns four before the start of the academic year. The online facility for admissions for September 2024 will be available from 1st September 2023 until 12th January 2024.

Children are admitted based on our admission polices which you can find below.  Our maximum number of pupils in each year group from years  1-6  is 30.  The maximum number of children we can admit to our Nursery class is 52. We have spaces for 26 children in the morning and 26 children in the afternoon sessions, although we also offer 30 hours if you are eligible to the 30 hour funding.  To find out if you are eligible for the funding, please click here.

In-Year Admissions

An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places.  An application should be made via the local authority by completing the in-year admissions form which is available from Coventry City Council. If you find it easier, you can apply online by clicking here.

The number to enquire about admissions is 02476 831613

As a Catholic school, parent will also need to provide supplementary information in addition to the standard application form that is submitted to the local authority.  For us to be able to rank a child as Catholic, we will need to see their Baptism certificate and take a copy of it for their file.

Supplementary information forms must be returned directly to the school at:

St. Anne's Catholic Primary School

Chace Avenue

Coventry.  CV3 3AD

If a supplementary information is not submitted directly to the school, this may affect the priority given to the application and could affect the likelihood of your child being offered a place.

The local authority will forward your application to the school for consideration by the governors.

Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements for 2023/2024 will be applied. The full admission arrangements can be accessed from here.

Alternatively, you can contact the school office to request a hard copy. Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.

If there are no places available, the local authority will notify you of this decision on behalf of the governors and the child will be added to the waiting list.  Please see the admission arrangements for details regarding waiting lists.

You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible.  Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of its receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of their application within 10 days of its receipt.

You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.  If you have any questions in relation to in-year admissions, please contact Mrs Maguire at the school on 02476 302882.  You may also wish to discuss in-year applications with the local authority on 02476 831613.
